Abstract

The book is devoted to the takf?n (shrouding) of dead and the funeral prayer, and is in the form of a travel diary in ten chapters.

The contents of the chapters are as follows: Ch. 1, entitled, the beginning of the journey, explains the reasons for wrapping the dead person’s body with a kafan (death cloth), Ch. 2 guides how to obtain a proper type of kafan, Ch. 3 emphasizes the lawfulness of the kafan, Ch. 4 discusses certain historical kafans, Ch. 5 mentions certain prayers and Eirzs (amulets) written on the kafan, Ch. 6 discusses the charactestics of the cover of the dead and the qualities of the kafans, Ch. 7 cites certain stories of kafan-robbers, Ch. 8 the funeral prayer is explained, Ch. 9 elucidates the rituals of the funeral prayer.
