An`?m Abstract The
book contains notes on the tafs?r (exegesis)
of 80 verses from the S?rahs (chapters) of Nis?', M?'idah, and An`?m. The book format is as
follows: the text of each verse is presented with special diacritical marks. It
is followed by a simple Farsi translation. Finally, notes are offered on its tafs?r. The author only discusses verses which
contain difficult and ambiguous points. He uses sha'n
nuz?ls (the occasions of revelation) for the
explanation of certain verses and, when necessary, cites other verses in
support of his views. He attempts to present well-documented and rational
arguments. Among the present tafs?r's
important characteristics, is its attention to the special points of Arabic grammer and the science of ma`?n?
and bay?n (semantics and rhetoric), through
which he succeeds at clarifying the difficult points and arrives at the true
meaning of each verse. His exegetical sources are trustworthy and mainly belong
to the 7th, 8th, and 9th centuries. Among the contemporary tafs?rs,
the author generally refers to `All?ma £ab?ïab?'?'s Tafs?r
al-M?z?n. Translated
