Abstract

This is a descriptive and analytical research on the history of Azarb?yj?n from early days of Islam to the era of Imam Œasan. The author aims to review the history of Iran with regard to the history of the region, and incidentally renovate the history of Azarb?yj?n, relatively. He studies the ardent of Islam in Arabia, Muslim conquests in the reigns of the Caliphs, the conquest of Azarb?yj?n, and the influence of Islam on the people of Iran and Azarb?yj?n.
The most important topics of the book include: a study of historical and geographical conditions of Arabia, Arab states and towns, association of tribes and the frontier countries, relations of the frontier countries, relations of the frontier countries with Iran, Arabia on the advent of Islam, a short review of the events of the prophet's time, the events of the Caliphs' time, the riot of Ahl al-Biddah (those who rebelled against the caliph Ab? Abstract

This book is the result of a ten-year trip of M?rz? Sayyid `Al? Kh?n Hij?z? known as Waq?r al-Mulk, the special secretary of Mu?affar al-D?n Sh?h to India. He became acquainted with some of the rules of metropolitanism and industries and economic relation in this trip and was busy with taking samples. Of the other considerable subjects in this itinerary are the author's attention to printing industry and comparing the condition of printing in Iran with that of India. This book begins with a comprehensive introduction on the history of writing travel accounts among Iranians and criticisms regarding the Orientals' approach to their surrounding environment in comparison with the Western approach to Orientalist studies.
